When people visit Fernhill School and meet with the pupils and staff, they are immediately struck by the warmth, the happiness and the friendliness of everyone they encounter. Former pupils send their children here; that may be a little bit to do with their own desire to remain a part of something special, as well as providing their children with an excellent start in life. When Fernhill gets into your heart, it doesn’t easily let you go!

Being on a single site, and having the small roll that it does, means that from a child’s first day in nursery everyone gets to know them. Pupils feel a great sense of belonging – and everyone feels part of the Fernhill Family, no matter at what stage they come and join us.

We have a strong Catholic ethos which underpins our whole philosophy of nurturing and developing the potential in each and every child, and children of all faiths are welcome to join us.

Renowned for academic excellence, our pupils have again achieved great success in this year’s SQA examinations, with many going on to study at top universities for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Law and Medical Sciences.

However, we measure our success not only on our excellent results, but on the wonderfully polite, quietly confident, well-rounded children who are proud to call themselves Fernhill girls and boys.

The School is now at an exciting time, focusing on growth and development following a significant period of strategic and transformational change. We require a dynamic, pro-active Bursar to join us, and help us achieve our goals for the future.
