I am delighted that you are interested in the role of Scotland Director at the Big Lottery Fund.
This is an exciting time in our development as the UK's major funder of community activity. I joined two years ago and, with colleagues across the Fund and stakeholders more widely, we launched our new strategic framework People in the Lead last year, setting out the overall direction of the Fund for the next few years. One of the most visible realisations so far has been the development and launch of our new Scotland portfolio in November. We have also just moved office in Glasgow and our new suite of meeting spaces gives us the opportunity to increase our convening and hosting power.
We still have much to do to embed the principles of People in the Lead across all our activity, to harness and make available learning and information from and for those we fund, to realise the opportunities that digital and other technologies offer us, and to develop fruitful and sustained partnerships and relationships with other agencies as well as the community and voluntary sector who sit at the heart of everything that we do.
This role offers the right candidate the chance to actively contribute to realising our collective vision both through leading our Scotland operation and as a member of the Senior Management Team.
