Thank you for your interest in the position of Associate Director – Programme Management Services (PgMS) within Business Services, a Strategic Business Unit of NHS National Services Scotland (NSS). As a commercially focussed business unit we are at the forefront of transformational change providing national portfolio, programme and project management services across NHSScotland, Scottish Government and other large scale public sector organisations.

The Associate Director will provide leadership and expertise to one of the PgMS’ major service areas, combining strategic focus whilst determining and leading the delivery of business objectives. The post holder will be given the opportunity to lead a diverse range of portfolios delivering programme and project management services within NHSScotland, Health and Social Care Integration, Scottish Government, Local Authorities, Integrated Joint Boards and wider public sector.

As a member of the PgMS Senior Management team you will work with colleagues to develop and deliver high quality innovative portfolio, programme and project management services whilst building and maintaining an appropriately professionally skilled and motivated workforce.

PgMS are increasingly instrumental in supporting the national initiatives which underpin the Health and Social Care Delivery Plan such as the delivery of services and functions of the health service which can be delivered more efficiently at a national level and can be done on a ‘Once for Scotland’ basis. The current PgMS portfolio comprises many of the leading transformational change initiatives being delivered across NHSScotland such as Realistic Medicines, Prescription for Excellence, Effective Prescribing, Unscheduled Care and the national NHSScotland Shared Services portfolio.

Our experience and expertise in delivering national transformational change is pivotal to the successful delivery and implementation of new services for our customers. PgMS will only be successful through its people and you must be willing to lead and motivate a team of programme and project management professionals ensuring strong governance and successful delivery.
