About
For 40 years, Hanover Scotland has pioneered progressive models of housing and care that support older people to enjoy full and active lives. This has continued as we respond to the rapidly changing world in which we operate. We now embrace both digital and social innovation, as our residents rightly expect greater choice, coordination and control of services and more opportunities to stay connected and active in their local communities. Covid-19 has changed the environment in which we work but we have responded quickly and have continued providing services for our customers.
With housing right across Scotland we currently manage more than 5,000 homes with a range of housing and tenure types. We also run a Telecare service helping more than 40,000 customers across Scotland as well a number of care and day centre services. November 2019 saw the completion of our merger with Arklet Housing Association, bringing a further 500 properties and 10 staff into the Hanover Scotland family in and around Glasgow. As well as these new additions, we continue to have an ambitious new-build programme alongside our planned maintenance programme to ensure we continue to provide homes of the highest quality.
Technology is a key part of our future and we are committed to becoming a more digital organisation and to bringing our customers on that journey with us. We are rolling out Wi-Fi across our developments and we are always looking at the next IT innovation that can help us deliver better services. Covid-19 has seen our IT resources shine, providing people with the equipment they need to work from home and continue to provide our services.
Last year we launched our Connecting Communities report, which outlines a vision for housing at the centre of integrated health and social care in Scotland. This draws on our wealth of experience as both a care provider and a social landlord. You can find it on our website.

Our people
Put simply, our people are the most valuable asset we have, because without our staff we could never reach the high levels of service that we constantly strive to achieve for our customers.
That’s why we have more than 600 dedicated staff members located across Scotland who work day (and often night) to ensure that every customer receives the best possible service.
We take the development of our staff seriously, with a dedicated learning and development team, providing a comprehensive training offering, from in-house and compliance training to senior management and new manager accredited training courses.
We are also Investors in People Silver Accredited.
