About UpMo
UpMo is an Edinburgh-based charity providing support and opportunity for adults with learning disabilities and autism. For more than a decade, we’ve been combining tailored support services with an increasingly respected curriculum of creative workshops, educational activities and vocational programmes.
We’re often asked what drives us, and the answer is simple – a passionate belief that every person in society should be given the opportunities they need to develop their potential and play an equal, inclusive and rewarding role in their communities.
Every week, we encourage our students to build confidence, use imagination and develop life skills through music, drama, art and other expressive and physical activities. We also offer trainee placements as part of our growing employability programme.
Clear vision. Big ambitions.
Every day, and in everything we do, we’re committed to a shared set of beliefs and ambitions. Some are aspirational – such as our vision for a more inclusive world. Others shape our work and our people – and help make UpMo the friendly, expert, trusted, creative and nurturing organisation it is.
Our vision
Our vision is an inclusive world in which all vulnerable adults receive the respect, protection, support and opportunities they need to develop their potential and play an equal, rewarding and contributing role in society.
Our mission
Our mission is to develop the skills of our people and the capabilities of our organisation to become recognised leaders in the provision of tailored support and learning opportunities for adults with learning disabilities – and make a difference to their lives.
