CEO

CEO: Visualise Scotland. Closing date: Monday 14th November at midnight.

Salary £40,000 for 30 hours per week (circa £50,000 pro rata)

About Visualise:

Visualise Scotland was formed in the autumn of 1987 by a group of parents, carers and teachers of visually impaired children with multiple disabilities. Based in Edinburgh and East Lothian we currently support 22 adults with disabilities to live independent and fulfilling lives. We are a relatively small organisation with a team of 80 staff. Currently our services are funded almost exclusively through local government.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a passion for social care to join Visualise. Leading a highly skilled and experienced team, the CEO will build on important developments for the organisation. We are implementing a new strategy, finalised in 2021, have strengthened our management of the organisation over the past couple of years and have plans to diversify our income and funding base.

Your experience:

You will have solid experience of the third sector and of working within its regulatory frameworks. You will be a strong team player, committed to building the capacity of Visualise. You will harness the strengths of the management team, build on their expertise and work with them to deliver Visualise’s priorities, ensuring sound financial management. The organisation is at a critical stage in growing our day services, with a move to a new premises. You will rise to the challenge and responsibility of delivering both our strategic priorities and operational plans, working with the management team, the board and stakeholders. Visualise is a member of the Coalition of Care Providers and is accountable to our regulators, the Care Inspectorate, the Scottish Social Services Council, our auditors and OSCR. You will be confident and comfortable representing the organisation, maintaining an up to date knowledge of the key priorities for the social care sector. You will have a passion for the rights and well-being of people with disabilities, be capable of working with colleagues to get things done, plus able to effectively lead at a strategic level.
