ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR: PATIENT SERVICES DIRECTORATE
Band 8C – Salary Scale: £55,548 - £68,484
Location – SNBTS HQ, Ellen’s Glen Road, Edinburgh or West of Scotland Transfusion centre, Gartnavel Hospital, Shelley Road, Glasgow

The core purpose of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service, a Strategic Business Unit of NHS NSS, is to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Scotland. In support of this, we are committed to a range of programmes that will enhance the service provided to NHS Scotland in both clinical and operational areas.
The Associate Director: Patient Services will be responsible and accountable for the strategic direction and operational management of the SNBTS Patient Services Directorate. The Patient Services Directorate is responsible for the provision of highly specialised clinical services and care across Scotland including; providing specialist transfusion medicine and supporting best transfusion practice; specialist and reference laboratory services; diagnostic and therapeutic patient services; collection and supply of bone, soft tissues and cells.
You will be responsible and accountable for the Patient Services budget and physical resources, reporting for their delivery and planning to the Director. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will actively contribute to the strategic planning, leadership and management of SNBTS and NSS as appropriate.
