Welcome to Streamline Shipping Group, a privately-owned family company which has been operating for over 35 years. If you are reading this then we assume you are interested in the position of Managing Director within the Group. Please read on!

I founded the business in the early 80’s and over the years we have grown our operations to include shipping and haulage particularly to the northern isles of Orkney and Shetland, stevedoring services in the islands and Aberdeen, warehousing and storage, UK haulage operations working from Glasgow and Humberside bases, international freight forwarding, project cargo and agency services. We have a long serving team of senior directors each of whom has a wealth of experience in what we do, but our current MD is moving on and hence this vacancy.

While I remain as Chairman of the Group, the family is looking for an experienced senior director to take day-day responsibility for the performance of the business – now with annual turnover of around £30m and some 200 staff. It’s a tough job, we work hard in a hard-working and competitive industry. The pressures can be intense, there are lots of deadlines in what we do, fast moving client relationships and plenty of decision taking.
