We are seeking an inspirational leader to chair our governing body, the School Council, and to guide St George’s into an exciting future focused on academic excellence, character development, and empowering young women. St George’s is renowned for nurturing courageous change-makers ready to use their voice for good.

As the next Chair, you will lead a small team of council members making up the School Council overseeing one of Scotland’s highly regarded all-girls’ independent schools, which has charitable status.

With a heritage of pioneering Victorian women’s educators and a progressive vision befitting our cosmopolitan Edinburgh setting, we are poised to amplify our voice as a leader in 21st-century girls’ education. We are committed to a tailored, forward-thinking curriculum and a supportive community that enables every girl to fulfil her potential.

We need a Chair who is an insightful strategic thinker, prepared to encourage innovation and who is financially astute. If you are willing to support creative thinking in how we equip students with the skills to thrive amidst a fast-changing landscape, then we welcome your leadership and collaboration.
