The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. We give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills, such as confidence and motivation. They work with 11 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. They have helped more than 825,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people we helped last year moved into work, education training or started a business. We are committed to equality and valuing diversity. This well-known and respected charity is ambitious and they have developed a strategy to extend the reach of their work to help a further 1 million young people over the next 10 years.

The leadership role of Senior Head of Government Partnership’s is a key one for the organisation; you will lead a team of 12 across Scotland as a member of the Senior Management Team, and will report to the Scotland Director and UK Director of Partnerships.  The organisation is values driven and you will be responsible for building its brand and public profile, whilst ensuring the values are at the forefront of the work and achieving its ambitious fundraising strategy.  This is a true leadership role and requires someone who works collaboratively is a natural innovator and is confident in decision making and can inspire internally and externally with the gravitas to develop relationships and fundraising opportunities.

To be considered for the role, you will have experience at a senior leadership level in business development, policy development and senior relationship management.  You will also have experience of leading, inspiring and motivating a multi-disciplined team and building and maintaining a network of funders, key contacts and prospects.  A large part of this role will be dealing with policy and government; experience in this area would be advantageous. Fundraising and income generation across the public and private sectors is at the core of this role, and you will be responsible for maximising opportunities to secure and maintain all funding opportunities.
