Are you an experienced Procurement Manager, CIPS qualified and highly familiar with procurement though Public Contracts Scotland and the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), looking for a role offering a good degree of autonomy?

Do you want to work with a publically funded organisation about to embark on a major procurement exercise? If so, we are working on a Senior opportunity which might be an ideal role for you.

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) owns ferries, ports and harbours and infrastructure necessary for vital ferry services serving the West Coast of Scotland, the Clyde Estuary, and the Northern Isles.

They are wholly owned by the Scottish Government with Scottish Ministers the sole shareholders and operate out of a head office in Port Glasgow.

They are looking to recruit a Procurement Manager to join their team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this senior role will involve providing specialist procurement support and guidance for the company whilst ensuring compliance with the existing procurement strategy and public sector procurement legislation.

The role will involve taking responsibility for all tender and quotation exercises, undertaking all interactions with the Public Contracts Scotland Portal (including OJEU Adverts) and ensuring both compliance and best value for money for CMAL moving forward.

The position offers a strong degree of autonomy, the post holder will be expected to act on their own initiative and have decision making abilities (within set guidelines) and the successful applicant will be able to shape the supply chain and work to improve the supply chain’s performance and relationship with CMAL.

This complex role requires someone who has significant experience in Procurement at a Managerial level. You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels, be able to work in partnership with suppliers capable of consulting and negotiating where necessary. It is essential that you are CIPS qualified and have strong experience of procuring goods, works and services through the PCS (Public Contracts Scotland) portal as well.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate strong experience in supply chain management, have the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers and be capable of working with a high level of autonomy.

In return this position is offering an excellent rewards package, including basic salary ranging from £43,418 to £56,987 (DOE and Qualifications) coupled with market leading benefits such as 31 days holidays plus 7 public holidays and a 6% contributory/30.8% non-contributory pension.
