The Glasgow City Region City Deal, one of the largest in the UK, is a £1.13 billion agreement between the UK Government, the Scottish Government and eight Local Authorities across Glasgow and the Clyde Valley. Our ambition is for the City Deal to be transformational – creating thousands of new jobs, improving transport and connectivity and driving business innovation and economic growth. It will also change how public, private and third sector partners work together.

Based within the lead authority, Glasgow City Council, this position is funded by and reports into to the eight City Region member authorities, through the Chief Executives’ Group and the Glasgow City Region Cabinet.

As one of the largest ever agreed and it is hoped that the City Deal will support an overall increase in the economy of around 29,000 jobs, lever in an estimated £3.3billion of private sector investment and ensure that deprived areas benefit from economic growth.

The Glasgow City region benefits from numerous economic assets but also faces challenges that have acted as barriers to economic growth. The post of Director of Programme Management Office will play a major role in the delivery of the City Deal Programme outcomes as well as in establishing working practices and strategies across the City Region to spread the benefits of economic growth across all communities.

You will have a proven track record of planning and delivering economic growth, regeneration and development activity in a local and national level involving multi-million pound investment. Excellent communication and influencing skills will be essential as will the ability to manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
