Victim Support Scotland is an independent charity built around a team of committed staff and volunteers, whose mission is to support people affected by crime and keeping them at the heart of the criminal justice system in Scotland. We are at the forefront of raising the profile and improving the rights of victims and witnesses in the public, parliamentary and criminal justice arenas.

Our values are being supportive and accessible, offering personalised help and the best possible service. We aim to help people affected by crime to have reduced stress and more resilience, to feel less vulnerable and isolated and to be better informed. In 2016/7 we dealt with over 100,000 victim referrals and more than 125,000 witness contacts.

We are looking to recruit a Director of Operations and New Business Development, to continue to drive forward and shape our organisation in the face of a continually challenging and changing environment.  As a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and reporting directly to the CEO, you are jointly accountable for the implementation of Victim Support Scotland’s (VSS) strategy and strategic implementation plan.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, with evidence of progressive learning, personal development and continued personal development.  You will have a working knowledge of the voluntary/ charitable sector in Scotland and/or the UK, and you will understand what it means to lead a modern charity. Developed communication and networking skills are required, as well as working knowledge of leading on programme and/or project planning methodology.
