Established in 1985, Orkney Housing Association (OHAL) is the only Registered Social Landlord (RSL) operating within Orkney.  We are an innovative, not-for-profit organisation which has, through our own development programme, built up a housing stock of 866 rented and shared ownership units throughout the Mainland and Islands of Orkney.

We are a thriving housing provider who is strongly embedded within the community we serve. We provide high quality affordable housing across the spectacular Orkney Islands and this year we will begin building our 1000th property. With our 30th anniversary celebrations coming to an end, we have been able to reflect upon the successful journey that has resulted in Orkney Housing Association’s tenant satisfaction rate being high above the Scottish average and we are excited to welcome a new member of staff that shares our desires to continue to make Orkney Housing Association a great place to work.

With a small direct labour force and a fledgling Community Interest Company subsidiary committed to diversification and innovation, the successful candidate will play a vital part in managing all Finance and Asset Management staff. Reporting directly to, and deputising for the Chief Executive, you will help provide effective leadership for staff, promote a culture of professionalism and integrity, maintain high standards of governance, decision making and financial control.

You will also demonstrate strong strategic influencing skills and the confidence to report to groups/committees at board level. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual with a proven track record in finance and asset management at a senior management level. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, strategic thinker and experienced leader.
