This position is now closed to applications.

We are working with a highly regarded private housebuilder who is seeking a Contracts Manager to join their team based in Aberdeen.

Working closely with the Construction Director, as well as the technical and commercial teams based in the office, the role will involve overseeing multiple new build residential developments across the Aberdeenshire area.

If successful, you will be responsible for proactively controlling site costs through identifying overspend, cost-efficient use of resources and managing sub-contractor relationships. You will continually discuss all of these with the Construction Director, and work with the Surveyors to plan the preliminary costs of a site. It is essential that you can effectively plan for different sites and developments at the same time, and be actively involved in pre-tender and pre-start stages.

You will monitor site activity against quality standards and provide direction for Site Managers and their teams to ensure they know what is expected of them and delegate work appropriately. Effective communication skills are key as you will be negotiating with sub-contractors, consultants, suppliers and clients. You must be able to deal with site and development issues with logic, reason and decisiveness when required.

The role will be varied and deadline-driven so you should have excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to adapt to change and prioritise accordingly whilst still maintaining attention to detail. You will have proven experience in a similar role in the housebuilding sector and be qualified to HNC level in Construction or Building studies. You will hold a valid SMSTS Level 4 and have excellent written, verbal and listening skills and must have a high level of proficiency in various computer packages, including Microsoft Office products.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a strong culture which strives to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and design excellence. The housebuilder is committed to investing in and developing people, delivering business excellence and adding value for their customers. In exchange, they offer a competitive package, including basic salary up to £70,000 per annum (DOE) a company car or cash allowance, company bonus scheme, medical cover, professional development opportunities and more.

To apply, please email a copy of your CV to smurray@aspenpeople.co.uk or call 07807 074 548 to discuss informally. All applications are treated in the strictest of confidence.
