Consultant in Histopathology

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly team of consultant histopathologists. Successful candidates will be able to report cases from a wide range of General Surgical Pathology practice, although a degree of subspecialisation has also been introduced.

Candidates who have already developed a subspecialist interest are welcome, as are individuals who wish to retain a more generalist approach. Development of areas of specialist interest is encouraged.

The role includes:

• Contribution to a consultant-led Histopathology service
• Participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings
• Optional support for provision of mortuary and post-mortem services
• Ensuring that the service continues to meet UKAS/CPA standards

Candidates for the post must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice, and be on the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of Higher Specialist Training in Histopathology leading to CCT, or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non UK applicants will be required to demonstrate equivalent training. It is also expected that the appointee will hold the FRCPath or show evidence of equivalent training and experience.
