Construction and Development Manager

The Property Department of NHS Tayside is looking for enthusiastic and dynamic person to fill the post of Construction and Development Manager.

The post holder will be responsible for successfully implementing strategic change within the organisation by delivering projects utilising project design, construction and management methods in line with current Scottish Executive guidelines, on behalf of NHS Tayside. Projects will cover capital investments, some of which will involve private finance backed procurement vehicles. The post holder will report directly to the Head of Property and have day-to-day responsibility for those staff under their remit and effective communication with the wider team members of any project. They will have responsibility for ensuring appropriate and robust project design and governance arrangements are established and adhered to.  Financial and project status reporting and presentation to executive and non-executive members of NHS Tayside, Senior Officers and associated groups and committees is essential.

To lead, manage, inspire, direct and support the continuing professional development of the staff reporting directly to them.

The post holder must hold a relevant professionally recognised qualification and have specialist construction industry knowledge underpinned by demonstrable theory and practice.

The post offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Property Department performance and reputation both within the organisation and in the wider NHS arena and requires commitment and drive to ensure that all strategic and operational projects are delivered with professionalism and dedication in a pressurised and changing environment.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
