Citizens Advice Scotland promotes a fairer Scotland, where people are empowered as citizens and consumers and their rights are respected. They are the umbrella body for the Citizens Advice service in Scotland and support their network of members – the 61 Citizens Advice Bureaux organisations who operate in different parts of the country – as they provide information, advice, support and representation for all who need it. In addition, Citizens Advice Scotland aims to be a voice for citizens in Scotland, to represent their interests to government, service providers and decision makers, and bring about positive change.

We are seeking an individual who will join CAS to provide excellent strategic leadership and clear direction. This role presents a unique opportunity to work with the newly elected Chair and Board of Trustees to lead the development of strategic and operating plans, ensuring effective governance, business planning and performance monitoring.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the complex national/local relationship central to the organisation and will offer significant experience in strategic leadership and management, accompanied by comprehensive relevant knowledge of social policy. An excellent and credible communicator, you will be apt at exercising tact and diplomacy and be experienced in influencing government and other agencies in the public, private or voluntary sectors at a strategic level.
