NCIMB Ltd is a specialist microbiological services company that supplies microbial cultures and provides a range of microbiology, biological material storage and analytical services to industrial and academic customers around the globe. Our products and services deliver essential underpinning support for research and innovation projects, quality control programmes, industrial microbiology and intellectual property protection.

The CEO will lead the overall operations, including product development, marketing, communications, and logistics. They will be required to:

  • Develop and approve strategies to meet investor, consumer, and employee needs.
  • Communicate with people inside and outside the company to discover what policies, products, and marketing strategies will help it move forward.
  • Make important decisions that affect the company’s direction and its employees.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially focussed individual to lead the continued growth of the business, support the staff team and drive the development of the 10 in 10 strategy.  A scientific background is a must, and you will have a post-graduate level qualification in a relevant subject area, ideally science based, and in addition some formal business qualification. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills: detail oriented, big picture thinking, strong written communication, strong verbal communication, organisation skills, prioritising, balance, multitasking, industry experience, decisiveness, persuasion, flexibility, open schedule, leadership skills and listening skills.

The successful candidate will have over 5 years of relevant leadership or managerial experience in a commercial setting, working to accredited quality systems and overseeing the delivery and development of scientific based services. This will include line management, project management or other evidence of supervisory responsibility as well as financial control and budgetary planning and monitoring responsibilities.
