About South Lanarkshire College
South Lanarkshire College has been at the heart of the South Lanarkshire community for more than 75 years. The College was founded in Cambuslang in 1948, before extending to cover the East Kilbride locale. The College moved to its current, single, state-of-the-art purpose-built campus in 2008.
The East Kilbride based campus is home to 5000 students and around 400 staff, it is situated in the centre of East Kilbride, just seven miles from the centre of Glasgow. The area around the South Lanarkshire College campus boasts a lively student community. There are plenty of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants, as well as easy access by public transport to Glasgow.
South Lanarkshire College offers a wide variety of course options to potential students, and the full list of courses on offer have been designed to help applicants make the right choice for their future career ambitions. South Lanarkshire College is one of Scotland’s top performing colleges for student success, and with 97 per cent of students progressing to further study or employment after graduating, the College is a great place for students to start their career journey.
Qualifications on offer at the East Kilbride based campus include entry level courses with clear progression routes to further training or employment, through to HNCs, HNDs and degrees. The College works closely with universities to ensure there are direct pathways for all HN level courses direct to university degree.
There are around 150 courses on offer in a multitude of curriculum areas, including, travel and tourism, accounting, plumbing and gas, construction management, hairdressing, health, and social care, childcare and much more.
