Chief Executive Officer

Welcome

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join Live Borders as our Chief Executive Officer to transform the organisation into a vibrant, sustainable and award-winning charitable trust.

We’re looking for a visionary leader who can demonstrate a burning passion and a strong commitment to one clear purpose: helping the people who live, work or visit the Borders to be Healthier, Happier and Stronger.

Established in 2016, we deliver a wide range of sporting, cultural and community services to a population of over 115,000 across an area of nearly 2,000 square miles. These services are currently the subject of a Transformation Programme and as the CEO you will be leading this journey of transformation, driving cultural change, seizing opportunities and creating a financially sustainable business, in challenging times.

If you are ambitious, with a first-class track record of delivering results and you thrive on a challenge, this exciting opportunity could be for you.

Live Borders is recognised across the region as a key player in our sector. Our TriFitness Gym was recognised at the Regional Club / Centre of the Year for Scotland at the prestigious ukactive Awards. Our 5* visitor attraction, the Great Tapestry of Scotland (GTOS) is amongst the top 10% of regional attractions on Trip Advisor. Live Borders staff are passionate and committed to delivering services in their communities, from running Bookbug events in libraries, to delivering world-class exhibitions at Scotland’s newest national attraction at the GTOS.

As our new CEO you will need to develop and deliver a new strategy to provide all our customers with service excellence and work closely with our key strategic partner, Scottish Borders Council, both elected members and officers, and where our business aligns, with wider strategic partners and programmes.

Inspiring a high performing senior management team, your role will be leading and driving change, with the support of the Live Borders Board. This change will help shape the company’s future and influence the way services are provided. You will manage the staff team through a challenging period of transformation to deliver a financially sustainable organisation fit for today and ready for the future.
