Director of Finance and Corporate Services

Welcome 

A warm welcome, and thank you for your interest in the post of Director of Finance and Corporate Services at Barrhead Housing Association.

During my first year at the Association I have often been inspired and am grateful every day to be part of a strong local community housing association at the heart of communities in Barrhead and across East Renfrewshire.  The team here is dedicated and enthusiastic, with an outstanding Governing Board.

This role provides an opportunity to grow the culture and strength of Barrhead Housing Association, through leadership of our Finance and Corporate Services Team and playing an active role in our small Executive Team.

The Association has a long and successful track record of supporting our wider community. Our vision states that we believe that everyone deserves to live in a secure, good quality well-maintained home, within communities that are safe, supported and inclusive.  From providing high quality homes, to delivering great services and building meaningful local partnerships for our tenants and customers, Barrhead Housing Association has played a pivotal role in the community for 35 years.

Our community role has never been more important. Many of our customers rely on us during these uncertain times and it is our job to provide the leadership, guidance and support they need. Being located in the community gives us a strong sense of purpose and presence, and we work with our customers to strengthen relationships even further, working with well-established partners as we do so. This includes our effective partnerships with the local authority, the third sector, the private sector and FLAIR (the federation of local housing associations in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire).

While it is important that we have dedicated service provision for welfare benefits and community investment projects, we have lots to do to support our tenants and residents through times of economic hardship and challenges with health and well-being. In addition, we will focus on future investment to maintain and improve our properties with a large planned maintenance programme to deliver over coming years. Meeting the demands of raising standards across the sector on energy efficiency and safety will remain a priority. Equally important is our commitment to contribute to the demand for new social housing and ensure that opportunities for growth through new build programmes and partnerships are maximised. Working closely with our East Renfrewshire Council colleagues also ensures we contribute to the housing needs of the whole local authority area, as well as working to alleviate homelessness.

We are looking for a highly competent, collaborative, ambitious individual to join the executive team as the new Director of Finance & Corporate Services.  The post holder will play a key role in leading the organisation and ensuring the continued success of BHA through strategic finance and innovation.
