Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your expression of interest in the post of Chief Executive with Glen Oaks Housing Assocation.

Since the early 1990s,Glen Oaks has worked closely with the local community to totally transform areas of Darnley, Pollock and Arden. Previously cold and damp flats have either been totally upgraded or else replaced by attractive terraced and semi-detached houses. Our business plans target further ambitious ongoing improvements and new builds. Also, as well as providing quality housing at affordable rents, Glen Oaks continues to take the lead on a whole range of wider social and environmental initiatives that impact positively on our customers and communities.

Throughout all activities, Glen Oaks has built a reputation for strong management, a supportive Board, sound governance and finances and excellent relationships between staff, management and the Board.

This critical appointment is an exciting opportunity for someone to build on this proud track record, bringing their own ideas and skills to lead the Association in best supporting the evolving needs of the communities we serve. Undoubtedly the role will be challenging as, like other Housing Associations, we face into the post – Covid world and the far-reaching impacts of the cost-of-living increases on our customers and business plans.

Against this background, we need someone who can demonstrate resilience and innovation, the ability to balance competing demands and inspire the confidence of all stakeholders including our regulator and funders.
