Alliance Director

Thank you for your interest in the role of Alliance Director with the Glasgow Alliance to End Homelessness. We hope you find this recruitment pack informative and useful in supporting your decision to apply.

The Glasgow Alliance to End Homelessness (GAEH) was formed in 2020, and sees organisations across the city leaving their own agendas and working together with shared responsibilities and a unified drive to end homelessness in Glasgow. The Alliance is the first of its kind in the UK and brings together the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), third sector and independent organisations, and local people with personal experiences of homelessness.

In 2019, Glasgow City Council issued a tender to establish an Alliance partnership that would work together with the Council to transform homelessness services, and end homeless in Glasgow by 2030. Understanding that ‘more of the same won’t do’, the Alliance partnership is an innovative approach and a major shift from the traditional commissioner/provider relationship.

Our genuine partnership approach will help to transform homeless services by always making decision in line with ‘What’s Best for People?’. We’re driven by responding to what’s best for people and this guides everything we do. The partners of the Alliance work together as a collective, taking a more integrated, joined-up and collaborative approach.

The ten partners of the Alliance are:

  • Aspire
  • Crossreach
  • Glasgow City Council
  • Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)
  • Glasgow Homelessness and Involvement Feedback Team (GHIFT)
  • Homeless Network Scotland
  • The Mungo Foundation
  • Sacro
  • The Salvation Army
  • Wheatley Care
  • YPeople

The Alliance Director will work with and report to the Alliance Leadership Team (ALT), representatives from across the partner organisations and groups. Delivery Teams cover the Alliance workstreams and carry out the delivery of Alliance activity and are overseen by the Alliance Management Team (AMT). It is the Alliance Director’s responsibility to lead and support the AMT.

Thank you for considering the role of Alliance Director and we look forward to hearing from you.
