Welcome to our site which has been set up specifically to give you information about our vacancies at NHS Shetland, the most northerly Health Board in the country and a unique setting in which to develop your career. We are a small organisation with around 650 staff looking after the health needs of some 23,000 people. However, what we lack in size, we more than make up for by way of the tight-knit, highly professional ethos that characterises every aspect of our operations throughout the island

Shetland, in keeping with other areas in the UK, is facing a period of unprecedented change in its public services. Investment in health and care services has been hugely successful, with people living longer and being able to live longer even though they may have more complicated health and care needs. Our schools are rated as some of the best in class and a new state of the arts modern High School has just been opened.
