Executive Director

Welcome

Thank you very much for your interest in the Institute of Chartered Foresters and I hope you will apply for the position of Executive Director.

Our purpose is to serve members and society to promote and deliver the sustainable management of trees and woodlands throughout the UK. Improving the standards of practice and understanding all aspects of forestry and arboriculture is critical to society right now. We are at a time of growth both in the sector and the Institute; never before have trees been so high up the political agenda and we need to meet the challenges for climate change, societal change and increase the use of home-grown timber.

As President of the Institute, it is my great privilege to provide, with Council, the leadership and guidance to support this work. Shireen Chambers, the current Executive Director, has overseen 15 years of growth, and with our new five-year strategic plan, we have set ourselves the target of delivering further expansion over the next five years. We are looking for a dynamic leader to build the influence and impact of our work and increase our membership to achieve this.

If you wish to have further information about the role, or if you have any questions please contact Mike Orr or Donogh O’Brien at Aspen People on 0141 212 7555.

Thanks and good luck with your application.
