Established in 1975, Port of Leith Housing Association (PoLHA) has always maintained its focus on providing improved access to high quality, secure and affordable housing and support to enable people in greatest need to be able to live independently within the community. It has now invested over £210m in the area and over 4,000 people currently call one of its 2,850 properties ‘home’.

40 years on and PoLHA are so much more than just a landlord, striving to be at the forefront as a 21st century organisation and employer, it now owns two successful subsidiaries; Persevere Developments, a private sector residential and commercial developer, and Quay Community Improvements, a community initiatives company. With the current 5 year plan coming to an end, this is an exciting time to join the organisation and lead on delivering the next strategic plan for 2020 – 2025. This will be about taking the organisation forward, building a brilliant company, delivering high quality services, increasing the range and choice of affordable housing, creating place and supporting healthy communities for people in greatest need in Leith and north Edinburgh.

PoLHA are now looking to recruit a Chief Executive who will provide 21st Century leadership to drive the organisation forward and help deliver its ambitious growth plans, vision and future direction. A passionate, commercially minded individual is sought to oversee the activities of the group, act as Company Secretary and ensure that services remain customer focused.

The new Chief Executive will be dynamic, creative and tenant focused. A strong, strategic leader with true authentic integrity, who will embrace PoLHA’s nurturing and encouraging culture. A natural communicator who understands the need to be visual, inclusive, driven and passionate. They will have substantial experience of managing a similar complex organisation as well as an understanding of good governance and budgetary control. An appreciation of housing and its regulatory environment is important.
