College Development Network (CDN) is the national development and innovation agency for the college sector in Scotland. CDN is responsible for building the workforce across Scottish colleges that can teach the curriculum of the future, ensuring educational inclusion and economic opportunity for hundreds of thousands of citizens.

Colleges will be at the forefront of leading the nation’s recovery from the covid-19 challenge and CDN is at the heart of reimagining how colleges will organise, teach, support students and lead in these fast-changing times.

To help us succeed in this critical role, we want to bring an outstanding colleague into our high-achieving and collaborative team. The Head of Professional Development will lead a team of expert trainers and project managers within CDN, working with development leads across colleges and a range of national agencies, to rethink how we skill and support our workforce.

This postholder will be a senior colleague in the small and friendly CDN Leadership Team and be trusted to operate and lead across the national education system.

We are looking for someone who wants great, not good. A colleague with deep experience as an educator and leader, committed to opportunities for learners and ensuring excellence in the college system, and most importantly unafraid to think radically and build support for new directions and new ideas.

Applications are invited from across the UK and Ireland, and CDN is a flexible and inclusive employer. Secondments will be considered.
