Chair

The Role

Are you an experienced and personable education professional with an understanding of the independent school sector?  St George’s School in Edinburgh is in search of the ideal candidate to assume the Chair position, necessitating strategic chairing skills, contextual awareness and knowledge of the political background within the educational landscape.

The role involves an average time commitment of around 3 hours per week, accommodating meetings at the end of the working day, including three council meetings annually, one strategy day and active participation in committees like Finance, HR and safeguarding.

Your expertise in chairing meetings as a business leader, together with your financial acumen and a keen interest in development and fundraising initiatives will be considered the most valuable skills to contribute to our commitment to excellence at St George’s School. Experience within the education sector is considered helpful but certainly not essential, we simply ask that you can demonstrate your belief in the importance and impact that St George’s School can make on the lives of the young girls that are fortunate enough to experience an independent school education.

Join us in shaping the future of education and apply now to be a vital force in Edinburgh’s educational community.
