The office is easily accessed being near Glasgow Airport (Paisley) and the M8 motorway.  It is a 10-minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Street station.

Due to retirement, Milne Craig are excited to be looking for a Private Client Tax Specialist to add to their team.  The successful candidate will have suitable knowledge and experience of Trust and Executry tax work.

The primary responsibilities for this role will be:

  • Management of trust tax compliance process, including HMRC registration, and an ability to review and support with completion of self-assessment tax returns.
  • Occasional preparation of forms IHT100 for relevant property trust principal and proportionate charges.
  • Providing regular tax support to various firms of solicitors including reviewing / partially completing forms IHT400 and supplementary forms for death estates.
  • Tax compliance support for periods of administration, usually referred by a number of solicitor clients.
  • Responding to regular tax advisory queries from colleagues and clients, particularly solicitors, in connection with complex, unusual and problematic trust and estate scenarios.
  • Private client advice on IHT mitigation and tax planning, with or without use of trusts.

The individual will work in a team of around eighteen tax professionals.  The firm has a total of over one hundred staff located on a single site office.  Whilst the role is office based, an element of hybrid based working can be accommodated.

The salary for this role is flexible to attract the very best of candidates and includes benefits including:
