The Gannochy Trust - Trustees

The Role: Trustees

Non-remunerated
Perth

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the Trust, developing the organisation’s goals in accordance with the Trust Deed. Seven is the maximum number of Trustees who can serve on the Board at any one time, with the majority of Trustees living or working in Perth and Kinross. The current Board consists of seven Trustees.

The selection process of new trustees will be evidence based and will look for clear examples of how candidates meet the criteria set in the Person Specification which should be read in conjunction with the Trustee’s Job Description. Trustees are appointed, first and foremost, for their interest, passion and concern for the primary vision of the Trust as well as the overall contribution they can make with their skills and knowledge.

There will be around 6-7 full day meetings a year, including Board meetings and strategy days. This level of attendance, together with preparation for and communication between meetings, will be a core requirement of Trustees.

Trustees, depending on their circumstances and the time that they have available, will also have the opportunity to attend a range of activities and events on behalf of the Trust, participate in working groups and take part in occasional training and development days as appropriate.

In line with emerging good practice, the Trust has set a term of office of four years which can be extended by mutual agreement by another 4 years.
