Homes for Life is a community Registered Social Landlord founded in 1998 to provide affordable homes throughout East Lothian. Working with partners East Lothian Council and East Lothian Housing Association, Homes for Life is an integrated, socially focused housing organisation dedicated to its service users. A close-knit team of staff work to manage a stock of around 300 units with direction from a board of voluntary, community-driven directors.

The CEO will champion this vision whilst ensuring all functions of the organisation and maintaining compliance with all necessary regulation. They will undertake a range of responsibilities, including:

 

  • Overseeing the successful provision of services
  • Leading and empowering the existing staff team
  • Advocating for the work of Homes for Life and acting as an ambassador for the organisation
  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the future

 

The ideal candidate will have a background in the housing sector at a management or senior level, overseeing the successful delivery of a function or organisation. Experience with governance and with SHR compliance will additionally hold the candidate in good stead. Finance or budget experience, potentially in the form of asset management, is also desirable. The candidate may well be making a move up into this role; an appetite for personal development and professional growth is therefore essential.
