The Link Group is a uniquely interesting collection of companies and other organisations dedicated to the construction, maintenance and management of high quality affordable housing, and the development of accessible pathways into the Scottish housing market for those who require assistance with that signal first step through the door. As an integral part of our work we also provide our tenants, and the wider population who use our range of related services, with a variety of specialist support, e.g. in employability.

It has been my privilege to serve as Group Chair these past 5 years, a period which has witnessed significant challenge, and also opportunity to continue our path of sustainable growth. During my tenure in post we have begun the process of taking the Link Group to its next stage, in terms of both the scale of new developments we are building as part of our programme to deliver 3,000 new houses over the current 5 year period, and also in the way in which we are organised internally in order to improve yet further our effectiveness and efficiency.

A key moment for me during this period was the appointment of our Group CEO, Jon Turner, to fill the considerable shoes of our long standing leader, Craig Sanderson, to whom I wish to pay a public tribute for his decades of dedication to the development of the Link Group and the services which we provide. Although Jon joined not long before the Covid pandemic hit globally, and has been tested with both significant challenges and exciting opportunities, e.g. welcoming WESLO into the Group, he has already demonstrated his considerable ability to lead the organisation with energy, enthusiasm and considerable expertise. These are exciting times for the Link Group and an excellent opportunity to take on the role of Group Chair, helping to steer the organisation through the next five year period.

In particular, as we all move from dealing with the Covid crisis into economic recovery and renewal there is a significant opportunity to take on the role as Link Group Chair and further develop the organisation.
