Created by Tenants, for Tenants, Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) is an independent Housing Association serving communities in the Scottish Borders by providing quality, affordable homes.  To assist the organisation deliver their objectives they are recruiting a Head of Asset Planning & Development.

The Head of Asset Planning & Development role offers a unique and exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who will play a key role in delivering SBHA’s mission and strategic objectives and progress a significant development programme.  

The role will have responsibility for leading and managing all aspects of the Asset Planning & Development team and as part of SBHA’s Leadership Team, support and deliver SBHA’s Strategic Objectives with a key focus on delivering Value for Money and to “Create Great Places to Live” for their Tenants.  You will have responsibility for developing and maintaining a stock condition database and investment plans as well as being lead contributor in developing and managing development initiatives including refurbishment and new builds to ensure SBHA make best use of available resources and anticipate future tenant needs.  

You will have a strong track record on performance, service improvement, change management, working with teams and customers to deliver a broad range of projects and priorities with demanding deadlines.  You will be highly driven with the ability to work under pressure, knowledgeable with the ability to make great use of technology and insight to continuously improve services achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.  

You will be degree qualified or have equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.  Experience of managing a substantial asset management, programme delivery and development function is essential as is  Chartered status in a relevant discipline..  You will be able to demonstrate service and performance improvement skills, performance management experience, complaints handling, the preparation and management of budgets and pre and post tender work.  Knowledge of the social housing sector would be desirable.
