NHS 24 is the national contact centre organisation for NHS Scotland and is responsible for providing a range of telehealth services to people across Scotland. NHS 24 also supports and facilitates developments in telehealth and telecare to improve the health and wellbeing of the population. Delivery of safe, effective and person centred care to the people of Scotland is the absolute priority for NHS 24.

NHS 24 is seeking to recruit an interim Chief Information Officer for a period of 12 months. This is a unique opportunity to join the top leadership team of NHS 24 at a crucial time as we move forward with our new technology platform with our commercial delivery partners.

The Role

The interim Chief Information Officer will have a crucial ‘hands on’ role in overseeing the development and implementation of the digital and IT infrastructure needed to support the strategic and business objectives of NHS 24. In doing so, the candidate will also ensure that we maximise current and emerging digital technologies to aid the delivery of a positive citizen experience and efficient operations.

You will bring or develop a keen understanding of the current and future landscape for digital public services. You will be expected to provide strong strategic CIO leadership and senior-level advocacy for NHS 24.
