Trustees / Treasurer

Salary:
Unremunerated – reasonable expenses paid
Location:
Edinburgh
notice:
This position is now closed to applications.

Victim Support Scotland is  looking to add to their current Board through the appointment of a new Treasurer as well as Board Trustee roles.

Ideally, they would prefer applications from those who already have some experience of serving on a Board, but if you don’t, they would still like to hear from you if you have the desire and enthusiasm to take on a new challenge.

In order to be considered, you must have experience of working at board level or at a senior management level, as well as specialist knowledge in one or more of the following areas; governance, finance, HR, IT, income generation / fund raising, marketing & PR, strategic planning and performance / quality management.

The roles are rewarding and you would play an important part in developing their strategy and vision, to help victims and witnesses take control and rebuild their lives in the aftermath of crime.

A sound business and commercial acumen is important. In addition, an understanding of the principles which govern Scottish charities or the not-for-profit sector would be useful but is not essential.

For the Treasurer role, ideally you will be a qualified accountant and / or have significant experience in charity accounting and an understanding of financial planning and forecasting.

Board roles are unremunerated, although reasonable expenses will be paid. The average time commitment is around 2 days a month.

Both positions are subject to a Basic Disclosure check.
