The Donaldson Trust is a longstanding provider of care and education to children and young people in Scotland. The Trust has delivered services since 1856 in Edinburgh and since 2007 in Linlithgow. During the last year the Trust has gone through a period of significant and transformational change and is now seeking to further develop holistic support services that empower neurodiverse young people living with challenges to maximise and enhance their ability to lead an independent and fulfilling life and make a positive contribution to society.

The Donaldson Trust is now seeking to recruit a number of Trustees for our Board. We particularly welcome interest in the role of Trustee from those that have the following backgrounds:

  • Board management skills including chairing
  • Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
  • Creative Arts
  • Finance / risk management
  • Education
  • Health
  • Business development / fundraising
  • Quality improvement / performance management

As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will play a key role in developing our strategy and vision to help make The Donaldson Trust a centre of excellence in developing the educational, social and emotional needs of children and young people across Scotland.

The Board meets five times a year with additional meetings of sub-committees held in-between. These sub committees include:

  • Quality and Practice Improvement Committee
  • Finance and Audit Committee
  • Human Resource and Organisational Development Committee

This is an unpaid role however reasonable expenses will be paid for travel to meetings and agreed out of pocket expenditure.

Successful applicants will be required to apply for a PVG through Disclosure Scotland.
