Myeloma UK is a leading charity dealing exclusively with this type of blood cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow. The organisation helps myeloma patients live longer and with a better quality of life, providing a broad and innovative range of services which cover every aspect of myeloma, from providing information and support to patients, their families and healthcare professionals, to improving standards of treatment and care through research, education, campaigning and raising awareness.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Marketing and Communication will be responsible for developing and delivering Myeloma UK’s innovative and ambitious strategy and delivering high quality marketing and communications functions to enhance the profile and brand of the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of an annual strategic communications plan to support the business goals of the organisation.
  • Work with other members of the Executive Leadership Team to ensure strategic communications are fully integrated across the organisation.
  • Oversee the management and leverage of strategic, high-level partnerships and collaborations with individuals and organisations to increase Myeloma UK’s reputation and influence.
  • Prepare regular updates for the senior management team and Board of Directors on the progress of departmental objectives.

The successful candidate should be a pro-active leader with demonstrable management experience and a clear understanding of the charity sector.
