Chief Executive

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Executive at Maryhill Housing.

At Maryhill, our mission is providing great housing and services for our customers; and supporting strong, inclusive communities in North West Glasgow.

2024 is an exciting time to join as leader of our organisation as we develop a new Corporate Plan and deliver on our promises to customers.

We are absolutely committed to improving customer experience. In the last year we have delivered significant improvements in key customer-facing services such as repairs. Through our ‘think customer first’ approach, we will continue to put customers at the heart of our service delivery.

As a community-based association, we are passionate about providing places to feel proud of – whether working with partners to deliver the masterplan in our transformational regeneration area or delivering comprehensive programmes of work in our multi-tenure pre-1919 tenements.

We are about so much more than simply providing housing. We believe that the core purpose of a housing association is to tackle poverty and we work with our customers to enable better lives. We have levered in over £1.5m into our communities in the past four years and will continue to play this key community anchor role.

As CEO you will lead our organisation on this journey. Your drive and enthusiasm will motivate our greatest asset: our staff team. You will be approachable and able to build positive relationships to deliver benefits to our customers.

You will share our commitment to continue to develop our evolving partnership work with neighbouring Queens Cross Housing Association, building on the recent successful launch of our joint Find My Home online choice-based lettings system and shared allocations policy.

You will bring your external networks and experience of delivering successful change to ensure we deliver on our value to keep improving, whilst having the communication skills to bring key stakeholders and the staff team with you.

Our communities are changing rapidly, and we see this as an asset to be celebrated. You will share our enthusiasm for embracing differences and embedding inclusive approaches across the association and our service delivery.

You will be a strategic thinker, comfortable supporting Boards, who also excels in a fast-paced environment. You will work in partnership with the Executive Team to develop a clearly resourced delivery plan to achieve medium term objectives.

Maryhill Housing is an ambitious organisation committed to growth. This means that we are committed not only to building new homes, but also to constantly challenging ourselves to get better at everything we do. You will work with the Senior Management Team to support and embed this culture.

We are looking for a leader who takes personal responsibility: for equality, diversity and inclusion; for promoting health and safety across the Association; and for promoting an organisational culture that lives the values of the Association and supports and empowers staff through a coaching approach.

If you can lead, inspire and motivate our team to deliver on these objectives we look forward to hearing from you.
