Director of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

Welcome

Welcome, and thank you for expressing an interest in joining the senior team at QAA.

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is an independent charity working to benefit students and higher education, and one of the world’s leading experts in quality assurance. We safeguard academic standards and ensure the quality and global reputation of UK higher education.  We do this by working with higher education providers, regulatory bodies and students’ bodies with the shared objective in supporting students to succeed.

In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, our quality enhancement and membership work is provided in concert with, and informed by, our quality assurance activities. We work closely with all higher education providers and the respective funders and regulators, in line with the policy and regulatory approach of each nation.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the strategic direction of QAA’s role in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, setting and evaluating standards of delivery and taking responsibility for performance, ensuring high levels of trust and satisfaction of stakeholders in these nations. There are ongoing reviews of post-compulsory education in both Wales and Scotland, and QAA wants to ensure that it is best positioned to support these policy directions.

We are particularly interested in attracting individuals with higher education, further education and/or quality assurance and enhancement experience or exposure, who are committed to the mission and values of QAA and who bring the skills and experience required to ensure QAA delivers its strategic aims.

You will find more information about QAA on our website.  I do hope that this microsite will be of assistance to you as you consider joining us at this critical and exciting time in the development of QAA.
